In a bid to woo tourists in the winter capital, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department will soon set up a multi-crores amusement park here.
“Amusement Park will soon be set up in Jammu and the project will be established near Golf Course at Sidhra on city outskirts here,” a Tourism official here today said. He said that the park will be fitted with imported equipment while the Government is also looking for an option of PPP mode to have outstanding Amusement Park.
“Apart from setting up amusement park, the Government of India has also sanctioned Rs 110 crores for Patnitop rope-way to boost the leisure tourism in the region,” said an official. Meanwhile, Bagh-e-Bahu, a replica of Kashmir’s Nishaat Garden here will also have a world class light and sound programmes to pace up the number of visitors not only from the state, but across the country the process of financial bids is underway, he asserted. Moreover, golf tourism, border tourism, leisure tourism and pilgrimage tourism are the areas to be focused by the Tourism Department in the Jammu region, he added.
“Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti following the footsteps of her father Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is too visionary and keen to give impetus to the tourism sector in the state to shape up the tourism industry besides an economy,” he maintained.
